Insurance Information
Coverage vs Cost
Determine Your Access to Care
Many health insurance companies provide coverage for Speech, Physical, and Occupational Therapy. The fact that much of the therapeutic activities occur on horseback is immaterial to insurance companies; the horses are a therapeutic tool. Families are responsible for any applicable copays and deductibles.
Our billing specialists can help you determine your coverage and/or cost of your child’s sessions at Carolina Therapeutic Ranch (CTR) so that you can move forward with peace of mind.
Carolina Therapeutic Ranch is typically considered in-network with:
- Aetna
- Blue Cross Blue Shield
- Cigna
- MedCost
- Medicare
- United Healthcare
- North Carolina Medicaid
- Cardinal Innovations
- Partners Behavioral Health Management
- South Carolina Medicaid
- Absolute Total Care
- Blue Choice
- First Choice by Select Health
- Tefra
Out of Network & Self Pay
You’re not on your own if CTR is out of your insurance network or if you are a self-pay client. We are happy to:
- File claims for you even if you are out-of-network
- Provide you with all billing details prior to initiating services
- Enter into a self-pay contract with eligible clients
Note that although we are considered an out-of-network provider with Tricare, our practitioners are able to bill insurance benefits for Tricare beneficiaries.
Automatic Payments
We use a secure online transaction system called Kareo. Through this portal, you can view your billing statements, invoices, and payment history – and authorize automatic payments.
- To enroll, complete our online billing enrollment form.
- To pay online, access your Kareo account.
Materials Fee
For Medicaid Insureds: A $5 materials fee is due to CTR for each hippotherapy session.
For non-Medicaid Insureds: A $30 materials fee is due to CTR for each hippotherapy session
